Find of the Week
Since my blog is really about my passion for treasure hunting I figured it was time to start doing a weekly post about my " Find of the Week" A fabulous set of 6 French " Jeu de Quilles" game pins circa 1900 The colors are amazing...there are 3 chartreuse green and 3 deep turquoise blue, with their original paint and loads of fabulous patina! I especially love the rusted metal detail on top! Jeu de Quilles A very old traditional game, bowling appeared in France in the fourteenth century. The balls did not appear until the seventeenth century. French statue of Jeu de Quilles player I think the antique pins and balls are wonderful... ...and can be quite decorative. The French have always had a way with display... Here a french restaurateur creates a lovely focal point... with an over sized "quille".
