Without even trying! Several months ago while shopping at The Alameda Point I spied this plaque in a booth and inquired as to the price. He told me it was $65. I told him that she was my patron saint, St. Therese of Lisieux, The Little Flower, and that I was named after her. He looked at me and said... OK, $40 We all started laughing... The truth is that it is important for treasures to find the right home! He told me that he had been hassled by a woman in his shop to sell it to her for a low price and the more she tried, the more he dug his heels in. When I came along, he knew that I was the person who was meant to be the caretaker of this beautiful treasure. My Mom is always trying to buy me St. Therese religious collectibles but I believe that patience pays off and it certainly did that day at The Point!
