Labor Day Weekend

-

 So soon?

Any plans?

One last trip to the beach?

I thought I'd leave you with these images as we bid farewell to the lazy days of Summer...

If you're not going to be hitting the road this Labor Day Weekend you might want to check out some amazing end of Summer sales going on right now.

All these coastal inspired accessories are now on sale at Pottery Barn.  I just ordered the ship in a bottle place card holders!

What lovely photos Terri - made me want to go to the beach immediately! Preferably with a barboy eager to bring me long, iced drinks on a little tray while I lounged beneath my umbrella...

That kitchen with the two industrial pendant shades is a favourite of mine, which is surprising given it's so white! Thanks for a last slice of summer inspiration, Terri! xo

Just beautiful.... and yes.. what's with all your holiday weekends? haha.. no only kidding!!!

Well these images are so gorgeous and have me excited about spring coming here very soon... It's hard to let go of summer isn't it? I know I struggled earlier in the year with summer slipping away... but each season brings it's gifts..

Have a great weekend.. xxx Julie

I know we are in different parts of the state but in southern California we have had an exceptionally cool summer. I'm thankful we have been cool but I'm really not ready to think about summer ending and fall beginning. I wonder if this means we will have a warm fall!?! All the images are so beautiful. I especially love the baskets and white hydrangeas. I also love the little pails. Thanks. Have a great weekend.

PS. Call me crazy but I have been having a feeling that you are going to be telling me that you have that mermaid! Maybe you should go visit it and see what's happening. I have a good feeling about that.

Is Labor Day weekend a week early on the left coast? I know you folks out there are forward thinkers but, officially, Labor Day is Sept. 6th.
If you've figured out a way to celebrate both weekends, more power to you.
Loved the summer photos. Do you know where the seafan pillows are from?

Thanks for straightening me out... I haven't been keeping accurate count of time lately as I guess I'm getting nervous about taking my one and only to college in a few weeks. I think it's some sort of denial. Anyway, Happy Early Labor Day to you :)

I found my bicycle! (my new old bicycle) The funny part is where I found it. Yesterday after finishing my post, " I'm longing for a new bicycle ," I was lamenting to my husband about how badly I wanted a bicycle of my own.  He looked at me and said, " but you have a bicycle."  (our vintage Colombia tandem beach cruiser) I said, "I know, I love the tandem but I would like my own bicycle."  He said, "You do have your own bicycle... remember you bought one at a garage sale late last summer?" The light bulb went off and the memories came flooding back!  All of a sudden I remembered the day I scored my awesome vintage bicycle at a garage sale on Briggs Avenue for $20!  I ran to the backyard where it had been covered up with a large brown tarp for the winter.  I squealed with delight at the sight of it!  I remembered when I bought it it had several small American flags attached to the front basket from being ridden in the 4th of July...

There is something about single beds... (Image via domino) I would love to sleep in a bunk bed again... if just for one night. I can just imagine the conversations that would take place in these rooms!   Summer memories are made here and here and here. Celebrating 28 years

28 years ago today I found my greatest treasure. Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love,  joy and celebration.  Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday.  The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation. Happy Anniversary Chris I love you madly!
