It's Antler Season!

-

I love bringing out the antlers during the Fall and Winter seasons.

They are the perfect compliment to the cozy accessories we bring out this time of year.

I love how they look with pumpkins,

and think they are the perfect touch to autumn vignettes.

Aren't they wonderful on this Thanksgiving table?

Here are a bunch of gorgeous images featuring antlers I found via Pinterest.

Enjoy!

I recently purchased this wonderful antique wood dough bowl trencher and filled it with a bunch of antlers my husband had taken down from the rafters of an old barn on his company's property.

I placed it on the Welsh Cupboard in our Family Room.

Hi Terri,
I love this post, because I love antlers! So many beautiful images, but when I scrolled down and saw your antlers in your dough bowl, I remembered how much your Welsh cupboard is like mine! It's almost the same! I'll send a photo....
Anyway, great idea to display your antler collection. Want to sell any of them....?

I love deer mounts and antlers too! In our "man room" I leave them up all year around. Everyone asks if my husband if he hunts and he says "no, my wife has a thing for deer antlers." :)

I know some are offended by them but I must say that I think they are quite beautiful and are really neat decorative objects, love all your beautiful examples.

Terri,
I adore antlers as well...though I realize, I don't have any in my home. Note to self - get antlers!

Yet, I have to smile, as the deer have been roaming my neighborhood freely and the daddy with the big antlers stared me down tonight as I drove by. Doesn't seem to be scared of cars or people at all!

I found my bicycle! (my new old bicycle) The funny part is where I found it. Yesterday after finishing my post, " I'm longing for a new bicycle ," I was lamenting to my husband about how badly I wanted a bicycle of my own.  He looked at me and said, " but you have a bicycle."  (our vintage Colombia tandem beach cruiser) I said, "I know, I love the tandem but I would like my own bicycle."  He said, "You do have your own bicycle... remember you bought one at a garage sale late last summer?" The light bulb went off and the memories came flooding back!  All of a sudden I remembered the day I scored my awesome vintage bicycle at a garage sale on Briggs Avenue for $20!  I ran to the backyard where it had been covered up with a large brown tarp for the winter.  I squealed with delight at the sight of it!  I remembered when I bought it it had several small American flags attached to the front basket from being ridden in the 4th of July...

There is something about single beds... (Image via domino) I would love to sleep in a bunk bed again... if just for one night. I can just imagine the conversations that would take place in these rooms!   Summer memories are made here and here and here. Celebrating 28 years

28 years ago today I found my greatest treasure. Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love,  joy and celebration.  Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday.  The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation. Happy Anniversary Chris I love you madly!
