It's A BIG weekend

Our one & only turns 21 tomorrow!

He and his posse are en route from southern California to attend the UCLA Bruins vs. CAL  Bears game.

We couldn't have scripted it any better.

How perfect that this classic match up is being played right here in our backyard bringing our boy home to celebrate this milestone.

We are looking forward to having a house full of Bruins and being a part of the celebration.

Happy Birthday Chris!
WE LOVE YOU

Happy Birthday to your son! You are going to have such a wonderful weekend. My second child Holly turns 21 in December. She was accepted to UCBerkeley but didn't pass her math class so is stuck here one more year and re-applying. She is also applying to UCLA and a few others. Her dream school is UCB and we hope she gets in again so that she remains near by.

Chris is darling! Can you believe your baby is 21?? You have been a successful momma...with a boy at UCLA! Hey, and he looks well adjusted with all those friends! We have lots of Bruins in my neck of the woods! Including lots of our son's friends.

Happy 21st Birthday to Chris! I didn't know our boys were on such a close path -- Carey's 20th is today and he is also on his way up for the UCLA/Cal game. Woohoo we both get to celebrate with our boys! Have a great celebration and weekend.

I found my bicycle! (my new old bicycle) The funny part is where I found it. Yesterday after finishing my post, " I'm longing for a new bicycle ," I was lamenting to my husband about how badly I wanted a bicycle of my own.  He looked at me and said, " but you have a bicycle."  (our vintage Colombia tandem beach cruiser) I said, "I know, I love the tandem but I would like my own bicycle."  He said, "You do have your own bicycle... remember you bought one at a garage sale late last summer?" The light bulb went off and the memories came flooding back!  All of a sudden I remembered the day I scored my awesome vintage bicycle at a garage sale on Briggs Avenue for $20!  I ran to the backyard where it had been covered up with a large brown tarp for the winter.  I squealed with delight at the sight of it!  I remembered when I bought it it had several small American flags attached to the front basket from being ridden in the 4th of July...

There is something about single beds... (Image via domino) I would love to sleep in a bunk bed again... if just for one night. I can just imagine the conversations that would take place in these rooms!   Summer memories are made here and here and here. Rooms with twin beds compel you to have a conversation before nodding off.   (Image via Pottery Barn Kids)   (Image via Elle Decor)   (Image courtesy of the desk of annie)   (Image via Beautiful Things to Share) (Cathy Kincaid)   Some more terrific twins...   (Image courtesy of gracie) (Image via Elle Decor)   (Image via HGTV) (Image via moodboard) (Image via Style Court) (Image via Just Beachy) Don't forget to enter my Giveaway!

Celebrating 28 years

28 years ago today I found my greatest treasure. Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love,  joy and celebration.  Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday.  The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation. Happy Anniversary Chris I love you madly!
