To Being There!


I try and take lots of photos for those of you who have never been to Alameda Point in hopes that all the goodness I see through my lens will entice you to come out and experience it for yourselves!
 

Yesterday was a gorgeous day which definitely added to the experience!


First up was this outstanding rainbow display of Bakelite!


What a collection this woman has amassed!


I think she could open up a Bakelite Museum with her jaw dropping collection!


I've been having some wrist pain of late and really need to give it a rest so carry on and enjoy the rest of the show!


I hope one day I will have the opportunity to run into you here. 


Unfortunately, yesterday I missed out on meeting Theresa Cheek from Art's The Answer who was in town visiting her daughter and upon arriving at The Point texted me just as my phone died!
 

Maybe if I hadn't taken so many photos...
 




































































On a final note, don't miss the premier of LA Shrinks on Bravo tonight as our friend and fellow blogger, Kevin from Hollywood Forever, Kevin, and his partner are on it.  I for one can't wait!

Oh...I loved seeing the vintage easter stuff and the rusty patio furniture with the pretty new cushions. Nothing like a really good flea market. I love it when you take photos. I can't wait to see Kevin tonight...he he!

Thank you for posting all these photos each time you go. I just love seeing it through what your eye catches as interesting. I used to live in Alameda and would love to go back to attend this.

Wholly cow Terri you are one lucky woman to get to hunt like that. We won’t have anything like this until the snow melts in May. Those window grills you showed laying on the ground are fabulous and would wonderful on the back of our home with clematis winding around them. Always fun seeing Trino in pictures! Thank you for taking us along with you!

darn it would be so far from chicago to drive my trailer out there. i could fly but that looks like torture, wanting to bring so many goodies home, yikes!

I always enjoy your trip to the Point! I hope I'll get up there one weekend. You have a great eye- so much to love there! I'm especially cray for the bakelite, the flatware, the cutting boards, the copper pots..!

Sometimes, things don't work out! :) We will meet one day, probably at a flea market ! I see we went by many of the same booths, the weather was incredible and I totally enjoyed it!

Both my mom and my uncle's homes were part of the Holiday Home Tour this year benefiting The Alameda Family Services League. My uncle's home is a grand old Spanish Revival that wraps the corner of Northwood Dr. (the street I grew up on) and Yale Dr. where he and my mom grew up and where my mom now lives. His address is actually Gibbons Drive which is one of the most beautiful tree lined streets in Alameda. "Alameda" actually means, tree-lined avenue!  This fountain greets you at the entry to his home. Summer Living

We haven't had a summer vacation yet but all it took for me to get inspired to do a little upgrade to our summer room or as my hubby calls it, his mancave, which is actually our garage, was this little number... It had been sitting for the longest time in my favorite thrift store and as hard as I tried to ignore it, it finally got my attention when one night as I was watching a movie with my hubby I imagined it across the room replacing an existing bench. Bright and early the following morning I high tailed it over there hoping it would still be there waiting for me! I sighed a breath of relief when I spied it over in the corner.  It was originally priced at $250 but had been lowered recently to $100. I asked politely if they might meet me at $75.   They promptly agreed as they were anxious to free up space. Once I got it home it became the catalyst for further upgrades in the space.
