From my garden



I created this simple arrangement in this ironstone tureen with the most unusual faux bois lusterware handles.  Lusterware is a type of pottery or porcelain with a metallic glaze that gives the effect of iridescence.





I picked up a bouquet of coordinating flowers from Trader Joes to arrange with the dark pink hydrangeas that fill my front yard.



I went out on a limb here as I usually only arrange one type of flower en masse.

Oh what a sweet little dragonfly pin to have landed on your luscious hydrangea bouquet! I've never seen deep pink hydrangeas, but we have lots of vivid blue here because of our acid soil. Gorgeous arrangements and photography.

Such pretty arrangements...you have the best containers. I don't have lots of flowers but the kumquat trees by my front door area have tons of buds this years.

Hi Terri!

Your tureen is go pretty and your hydrangea is gorgeous! They like the PNW weather so I've got them in my yard. They hold up well in containers in the house and last a long time cut, and sitting in vases.

I found my bicycle! (my new old bicycle) The funny part is where I found it. Yesterday after finishing my post, " I'm longing for a new bicycle ," I was lamenting to my husband about how badly I wanted a bicycle of my own.  He looked at me and said, " but you have a bicycle."  (our vintage Colombia tandem beach cruiser) I said, "I know, I love the tandem but I would like my own bicycle."  He said, "You do have your own bicycle... remember you bought one at a garage sale late last summer?" Celebrating 28 years

28 years ago today I found my greatest treasure. Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love,  joy and celebration.  Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday.  The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation.
