Holiday Home Tour - House #1
Hometown Boy
John Lucasey was born and raised in Alameda and maintains his everlasting love for the Island City. Alameda is where he best gathers his creative space and continues to fulfill his creative dreams.
John fell in love with this house the minute he saw it. He felt it's magical bones and knew that with a little high-tech elbow grease and some of his eclectic antiques he could have what he envisioned... a creative, personal space for his recording company, Studio 880.
John's company has created productions for American Idol, Beyonce, Green Day and Keith Urban, to name a few. John takes all recorded sounds and edits, blends and transforms them into a finished product. In 2003 he won Mixed Tech Award for Green Day and has been featured in many magazines for his designs for other performers, including the Rolling Stones.
My Mom posing with her friend Sharon, one of the docents on the tour. They are also both docents at The Cathedral of Light in Oakland.
Besides being a recording professional, he has a fondness for wonderful antiques, including 16th Century Venetian pieces, 18th Century French fixtures and furnishings, along with mixed Art Deco decor.
Here is my Mom proudly showing off the amazing kitchen.
I love this floor!
This home boasts some seriously fab ceilings!
I love the way the stove has it's own niche.
It is truly one of the nicest kitchens I've seen in a long time.
This is the nook off the kitchen leading to John's office.
Can I just say, this guy has great taste!
Check out his bicycle!
The "Studio" is the highlight of the home which includes the Art Deco Movie Theatre, game room, full wine cellar and production office space.
John recently passed his Contractor's license and Studio 880 is his own design. He intends to find other Victorian wonders in Alameda and renovate them to serve as creative work/live residences.
I grew up down the street from John and his 2 brothers and must say that I am incredibly proud of this hometown boy!
