WHAT??? Un-BelievABLE! "Another person's trash"... I'm always floored by what people get rid of, too. Even the upholstery is timeless and in perfect condition. Great job! Can't wait to see how you use it.

It looks like a very good looking model: deep seat, high back, and graceful arms. I would have the loose back pillows in a different fabric to make it more personal.

That's a $4000 sofa! We must have all the details. Where, when, why. The greatest treasure is the lady sitting on it. She should write a style book. I want to come to Alameda and go to her hairdresser. You probably spent more on the delivery than the sofa. Good job!. Ann

I'm not sure that price would have covered the fabric to cover the sofa, much less the structure. You have quite the nose for a quality bargain!!

Yay for you!

I found my bicycle! (my new old bicycle) The funny part is where I found it. Yesterday after finishing my post, " I'm longing for a new bicycle ," I was lamenting to my husband about how badly I wanted a bicycle of my own.  He looked at me and said, " but you have a bicycle."  (our vintage Colombia tandem beach cruiser) I said, "I know, I love the tandem but I would like my own bicycle."  He said, "You do have your own bicycle... remember you bought one at a garage sale late last summer?" The light bulb went off and the memories came flooding back!  All of a sudden I remembered the day I scored my awesome vintage bicycle at a garage sale on Briggs Avenue for $20!  I ran to the backyard where it had been covered up with a large brown tarp for the winter.  I squealed with delight at the sight of it!  I remembered when I bought it it had several small American flags attached to the front basket from being ridden in the 4th of July...

Celebrating 28 years

28 years ago today I found my greatest treasure. Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love,  joy and celebration.  Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday.  The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation. Happy Anniversary Chris I love you madly!
