Going Home...

We are going to Colorado for a few days to visit my husband's family and to celebrate his mother's 81st birthday. Colorado holds a special place in my heart as that is where I met my husband 30 years ago while attending the University of Colorado in Boulder. We are looking forward to spending some quality time with family and are hoping to squeeze in a visit to our Alma Mater. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead!  And please don't forget to enter The Ramsign Giveaway if you haven't yet. The winner will be announced when I get back on Tuesday July 19th. Go Buffs!

Let's Play...

What's this? The glass piece is solid so I don't think it is not an inkwell. I really don't have a clue... do you? I was thinking the letters AOT might have something do with Fraternities or Sororities. Don't forget to enter my Ramsign Giveaway at the top of my sidebar if you haven't yet!

A Graphic Giveaway!

Pick a number... any number! Allow me to introduce you to Ramsign, a Danish company, who is reviving the production of classic European street signs. I don't know about you, but one of the first things I fell in love with on my first visit to Europe in 1977, were the enamel street signs.    I even bought a magnet of one at The Charles de Gaulle airport on the way home!  Since 1991, Ramsign and their skilled craftsmen have been producing by hand with the original stencil technique and porcelain enamel, an amazing array of traditional European signage.  They are generously offering one of my blog followers a chance to win one of these classic house number signs. Here are some charming examples...   All you need to do is... pop over to their website   and check out the wide range of styles and colors they offer, and then come back here and leave me a comment telling me which one you would choose and where you would place it....

Lunch at Garwoods

Image
Dining at Gar Woods Grill and Pier in Carnelian Bay is a must when in Lake Tahoe. They offer free valet boat parking for those fortunate to have a boat.  They offer lakefront dining out on their beautiful deck.   I think most people come for the world famous " Wet Woody ". We headed here for lunch after the parade in Truckee. Not wanting to wait an hour for the deck, we opted to go upstairs where we were seated near the window.      I ordered steamed clams which were delish!     Check out our birds eye views! After lunch we took a stroll on the pier, just in time to wave good-bye to a fellow vacationer whose tee-shirt said, "I Love Hot Moms"!   As he pulled away I yelled out, "check out my blog La Dolfina... you'll be on it!" This lovely spot represents quintessential Tahoe to me!   Have you booked your trip yet?

It's all over...

but the memories...  I just had to share these heartwarming images from Truckee's small town parade. Did you go to a parade? I look forward to them every year and this one was truly special!
