Palm Springs Celebrity Home Tour
This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
Elvis greeted us as we entered the tour office.
We were excited to see the large, air conditioned luxury bus we'd be boarding for our tour of the "Playground to the Stars."
There were lots of fabulous photos of old Hollywood.
We were really into it!!
Jaithan and I teased Eddie about having "pack rat" style instead of the "Rat Pack" style of Sammy Davis and Frank Sinatra!
He was oblivious, completely focused on the stars of yesteryear.
This is a self portrait of Frank Sinatra!
This is our uber fabulous tour guide, Annie Hall. We couldn't have asked for a better gal and boy could she drive a mean bus!! She offered to take us to see a few houses that were normally off limits!
I love this shot of Marilyn. Wait till you see her house! Annie was not allowed to actually, legally show it to us but she described the black & white awning on it as she drove past it, so I was able to snap a photo.
There were only 3 other people on the tour with us,
so we each took a row so we could go back and forth across the aisle to make sure we saw everything!!
OK, before we begin the tour I must confess that it was nearly impossible to remember whose house belonged to whom as Annie was not allowed to actually stop in front of any. It was fast and furious to say the least. I think I can remember a few for sure but I think you will enjoy just seeing these beautiful homes that once belonged to some of Hollywood's most beloved movie stars.
Here is a list of the stars who had homes on the tour:

Once owned by Bob Hope and used as a guest house.
Liberace's 1st House
Check out the mailbox!
Marilyn Monroe's house!
Her house was my favorite!
This was the home of Elizabeth Taylor and Mike Todd.
It was also one of my faves which is why I remembered it!
If you enlarge this photo you will see signatures in the cement driveway. Unfortunately I don't remember whose house this was. Can you make out the names?
I apologize for not remembering which house once belonged to whom but I hope you enjoyed the tour of this iconic Palm Springs neighborhood where many of the stars of old Hollywood came for much needed R&R. Being under contract to the studios required them to be not more than a couple of hours away which is why this area became known as "The Playground to The Stars."

Next year we'll take the tour together and I'll take it all in while you take the photos and then hopefully I'll be able to remember who they belonged to. Deal?

kids never wanted to leave the pool, we never even thought of doing this!
What a great idea! It beats the Beverly Hills" star maps" any day!
I can hardly think of anything more fun than seeing a house that hides behind a gate!!!
