Vintage Bottles
I have a thing for vintage bottles.
The other day I searched craigslist for some...
never expecting to find any.
I did find some.
But I found a whole lot more!
From the minute I picked up the phone to call about the bottles I could tell this adventure wasn't going to be about bottles.
I felt an immediate connection with Leslie, the woman selling the bottles.
She told me she couldn't meet me half way as she was too busy packing up to move and that I'd have to come to Morgan Hill to pick them up.
Never wanting to go on an adventure alone I talked my ever patient Mom and good friend Catherine into coming along for the ride.
It took us about 1 1/2 hours to reach Morgan Hill. When we arrived at our destination I excitedly jumped out of the car and opened the big wooden gate which led us up a short drive to one of the most idyllic settings I've ever seen.
Leslie and her friend Carli greeted us as we pulled up to the 2nd house on the property.
They invited us in for a look see as we couldn't contain our oooohhhs and aaaahhhs!
Check out the reclaimed barn wood floors!
I swooned when I saw her collection of shells and bottles!
Here's Leslie telling us how she lovingly restored both houses on the property which have been in her family for years.
She was so gracious in allowing me to take some photos even though she was in the midst of packing!
She stripped all the original doors and trim to expose their natural beauty
My Mom and Catherine listened intently as Leslie shared a little history about her family's property.
Leslie lives in this cozy house and rents the one next door.
Back downstairs...
in the garage, she had more stuff for sale.
I couldn't resist the old distressed red wicker table hidden beneath the stereo speakers!
She offered us this lovely upholstered piece for free but we couldn't fit it in the car!
I didn't want to leave this beautiful place or it's lovely owner and her friend but I made them both promise that we would keep in touch and that they had a standing invitation to come and play with me anytime in Alameda this summer!
The moral of the story is you never know what you'll find on craigslist!

So sweet you and your Mother get to share in adventures together that too is one of the precious gifts of the day besides meeting a new friend. You have many gifts my dear blog friend -- many worthwhile gifts of the heart.
Such a treasure you are in sharing this blessing.

Those are in quite clean condition too.
What a wonderful home. That french chaise in one of the photos is so nice.

Now now, I thought we discussed 4-5 things?
I think some more tags, like scroll, metal, black, rusted etc. might be a good idea.
By the way I forgot to mention those are fab floors in that house. All around great. No wonder you enjoyed your day there s much.

Pretty bottles... I have now gerberas on mixed bottles on our dining table, five simple gerberas and few srands of long grass look much "more" that way than if they all were placed only in one vase.
How wonderful to discover your beautiful blog!
I was blog hopping, and I believe that I found you by way of my friend Suzanne at Privet & Holly.
Gorgeous photos! I've got a weakness for vintage bottles too, and what a wonderful discovery you made in the process of seeking these out.
So nice to meet you!
Anne
Have a great week end and Happy Mother's day!!
