Oh Terri, how I love shopping through your eyes. It looks as if you had a lot of discipline if you did not buy any of these goodies. I know most of these were near and dear to your heart. It was a beautiful sunny and crisp day, perfect for treasure hunting. I can't wait to hear all about your day. xo Kathysue
Maybe it is a good thing i live so far away.....I would be in big trouble here. Such lovely things and great photos! Looks like a fabulous Sunday to me. XO
I'm not sure I was at the same Flea Market! Some of these beautiful artifacts missed my roving eye or were picked up before I got there! I kept missing you! I recognize the rusted Victorian fire-place heads resting on the bottle dryer. You can buy them at Tyler Florence for double the price! I think I might have to get one next month. There was only one left @ 1pm. http://www.tylerflorence.com/
What a great fair! I am sure I could not resist everything... I would have to buy those old signs... and the clock faces... and some old bottles... and...
Hi Terri...almost didn't go. With all the bad weather reports I was adjusting my expectations. Boy did it turn out to be beautiful. My son had something in mind for his girlfriend (ahhh) so I went along for the ride. Love the bottle on the silver base. Trish
Hi, just found your blog and I am so excited! I love all of these photos, it shows me I need to pay closer attention when I shop at Alameda. However, I did take that table with the names carved into it home to my shop! Great blog!
I'm reeling from swooning over and over! I love those shell-crusted lamps and the steel orb. I'd make that into a pendant lamp pronto-like. Thanks for sharing the shopping fun!
Kathysue sent me over. I am so pleased I came but this post shows the most terrifying place I have ever seen. I would not get out of there under a semi-trailer load and a divorce the next week. Absolutely amazingly beautiful finds.
Hello, I just found your blog!! Oh. my. God. That market is awesome, all those awesome things in the one place. I love those blue bottles!! I WANT a market like that in Sydney Australia....NOW. Joining up to your blog now. Di
Wow! That could have been quite a shopping spree! Those glass floats were European. I'm not sure I could have left some of those behind! I need a few more to dust! Looked like a very neat place. Thank goodness we don't have anything like that up here in Alaska. I'd be in big trouble! :)
I found my bicycle! (my new old bicycle) The funny part is where I found it. Yesterday after finishing my post, " I'm longing for a new bicycle ," I was lamenting to my husband about how badly I wanted a bicycle of my own. He looked at me and said, " but you have a bicycle." (our vintage Colombia tandem beach cruiser) I said, "I know, I love the tandem but I would like my own bicycle." He said, "You do have your own bicycle... remember you bought one at a garage sale late last summer?" The light bulb went off and the memories came flooding back! All of a sudden I remembered the day I scored my awesome vintage bicycle at a garage sale on Briggs Avenue for $20! I ran to the backyard where it had been covered up with a large brown tarp for the winter. I squealed with delight at the sight of it! I remembered when I bought it it had several small American flags attached to the front basket from being ridden in the 4th of July...
There is something about single beds... (Image via domino) I would love to sleep in a bunk bed again... if just for one night. I can just imagine the conversations that would take place in these rooms! Summer memories are made here and here and here. Rooms with twin beds compel you to have a conversation before nodding off. 28 years ago today I found my greatest treasure. Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration. Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday. The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation. Happy Anniversary Chris I love you madly!
